AI is reshaping how companies operate, and entrepreneurs across Ontario are paying attention. To understand how our community is adapting, ACBN surveyed the first 100 respondents about their use of AI tools, comfort levels, and business systems. The results reveal both impressive progress and significant gaps that must be addressed to help businesses grow.

This report highlights what entrepreneurs are doing well, where they need support, and how ACBN is stepping in to guide the transition toward AI-enabled business growth.

Adoption Is High: Most Entrepreneurs Want More AI

One of the clearest findings is that entrepreneurs are eager to integrate AI. An overwhelming 95% said they want to adopt more AI in their business. This shows strong motivation and openness to new technology. It also confirms that the community is not resisting digital transformation. Instead, entrepreneurs are simply looking for clearer direction.

In addition, 78% of respondents said they have already started using AI. Although most are early in their journey, this shows that the desire to innovate is already turning into action.

Where Entrepreneurs Are Using AI Today
Even though adoption is growing, entrepreneurs are mainly using AI in familiar areas. The top use cases include:

• Copywriting and content creation (23%)
• Image creation (20%)
• Media posting and scheduling (18%)
• AI chatbots (11%)
• AI voice tools (7%)

These uses are valuable because they save time. However, they represent only a small part of what AI can do. Very few entrepreneurs are using AI to automate sales, manage leads, or streamline operations. As a result, the tools are not yet producing the full business impact they could.

Comfort Levels Are Rising Despite Skill Gaps
When asked how comfortable they feel using AI tools, most entrepreneurs rated themselves between 5 and 10. This means that confidence is growing. Many are willing to experiment, even if they do not consider themselves experts.

This trend is encouraging. With the right support, these entrepreneurs can quickly advance from experimentation to practical, revenue-driven implementation. However, without guidance, they may continue using tools in ways that offer limited return.

The Hidden Barrier: Weak Business Systems
While AI interest is high, many respondents lack the systems required to use it effectively. This became clear when we examined CRM usage.

• 33% still use Excel as their CRM
• 24% do not use a CRM at all
• Only 10% use GoHighLevel
• 19% use HubSpot

This is a major challenge. AI tools work best when connected to organized data. Without proper CRMs, entrepreneurs cannot automate follow-ups, track leads, or create efficient workflows. In short, weak systems limit the power of AI.

What These Results Mean for the Black Entrepreneurship Community
Across all responses, one theme stands out: entrepreneurs are ready for AI, but they need structure, training, and ongoing support. They are motivated, curious, and willing to put in the work. Yet many are not sure how to turn AI from a simple content tool into a business growth engine.

This is exactly where ACBN continues to lead. Through our microloan programs, workshops, business coaching, and events like the ACBN Legacy Symposium, we help entrepreneurs move from experimentation to strategic implementation.

Our goal is simple: support Black-owned businesses in adopting AI in ways that increase revenue, improve operations, and strengthen long-term sustainability.

Next Steps: Helping Entrepreneurs Use AI With Confidence
Based on this survey, ACBN is developing new tools and training to support the community. These upcoming resources will help entrepreneurs:

• Select the right tools
• Build systems that support automation
• Save time using AI-driven workflows
• Improve customer experience
• Implement automations that increase revenue
• Reduce manual tasks and free up capacity

These programs will guide entrepreneurs beyond basic content creation and into practical business transformation.

Conclusion
The AI Integration Survey shows a community that is motivated, forward-thinking, and ready to grow. Entrepreneurs want AI. They are already testing tools. Yet they need structure and support to unlock the full potential of this technology.

ACBN will continue to offer leadership and resources to ensure our community stays competitive in a rapidly changing economy. With the right systems and guidance, AI can help entrepreneurs scale their businesses, strengthen their impact, and build long-term economic power.
